The One Inside: An Internal Family Systems (IFS) podcast

Mar 24, 2023

Re-published Previous episode for the Altogether Us Book!

Gaby Satarino has created four IFS-informed approaches to providing culturally centered care to Latinx clients who live in the United States:

·               Culturally Sensitive Contextual Interview (CSCI)

·               Recognizing Common Polarizations in Latinx Clients

·               Culturally Centered Spiritual Integration

·               Language Switching for Culturally Centered Healing

The IFS-Informed Culturally Sensitive Contextual Interview (CSCI) is set of questions that clinicians can ask both during intake and throughout the duration of client care that invite dialogue about cultural experiences have impacted the parts of the client.

You can find the English and Spanish version of the Culturally Sensitive Contextual Interview in the book, "Altogether Us" under her chapter, IFS and Latinx.

Gaby Satarino, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Certified IFS Therapist. She has over 20 years of clinical experience working in community mental health and primary care settings providing trauma-informed psychotherapy for at-risk youth, refugees, the homeless and incarcerated populations, as well as survivors of rape, domestic violence and torture. Gaby’s clinical work is undergirded by a passion for understanding the ways in which Latinx cultural values impact engagement and treatment outcomes in mental health and has focused on community outreach work aimed at reducing utilization gaps among Latinx communities. She sees clients and trains clinicians through her private practice in Dallas, Texas.
